Mostly, they napped in a heap and I ran up and down the stairs from my office to my studio and back, often accompanied by Mimi. But Mewsette did hear a new piece of cardboard speak to her.

Mimi and I were just admiring her lovely children, all sleeping in a heap on the floor. We are enjoying some rare one-on-one time, just Mimi and me.

Why do you insist upon picking me up and squeezing me and slobbering on me when all I want to do is walk some slow, dignified figure-8s around your ankles? I have to start all over again every time you put me down. [Mimi]

So their little plot to surround me and dig me out from under the covers backfired this morning because they were all so cute and purring I couldn’t get up and they purred me back to sleep.

A certain small, middle-aged black kitty is scampering around like a kitten today. No toy is safe, not even non-toy items, or my toes.

Ah Mewsette, we see the Muse has struck you again! We await the Cardboard masterpiece – or should we say Mouth-therpiece…?
I don’t really understand these strange urges or why the cardboard talks to me, but my human tells me it’s perfectly normal. We shall see!
So Jelly Bean has a purr like little Pixels. I’ve never heard anything quite like Pixels. It’s turned out to be a wonderful thing as my mother has become mostly blind and has always loved the sound of a cats purr. Pixels is such a people orientated cat that she will go to and be held by anyone and has taken to falling asleep on my Mom’s chest when she visits, purring like a very loud engine. I’m so pleased to see her giving my mother something she can still appreciate fully.
Susan, that is so special! A cat’s purr is very healing, and for a person who has lost her sight touch is often not enough to make up for what is missing and a purr helps to fill the void. Purrrrs are also very healing! JB is the nanny cat, and though we’ve only had three foster cats since the Five have been with me, it’s been his purr that has lured them into being a part of the group.
