Daily Sketch Reprise: Three Colored Cats, 2012
Time for a sketch in this style again, but a little different from the others, listed below. The boys were sleeping in wonderful positions all smashed together and comfortable, just ready for a different sort of treatment. This is Mr. Sunshine in blue for some reason, and Jelly Bean in orange, but of course Giuseppe Verdi is in green. That orange in the center should be a much brighter red-orange, but this is what my scanner sees.
I really enjoy this style and think I’ll invest in a larger set of better markers to be able to do more and larger drawings, as it looks like the green is getting a little tired.
The difference in this sketch from the other is the outline. On the prior sketches I used the brushy thick and thin of the marker with a single line, but for a little bit of a difference I traced and retraced the line to see the effect. It’s more like my sketchy pencil lines. I like them both.
You can find sketches in this style in the category “black outline”.
And with that, I have finished another 100-page sketchbook! Time to unwrap a new one, new size, new paper, new tone to the color.
. . . . . . .
Nestled, 2013
A nest of papers on the desk is as good a bed as anything else when Mimi has to keep a close eye on the human for the afternoon. Of course, the arm has to be stretched out to be certain of covering maximum area.
