Today I came in with my little gathering basket full of tomatoes of various types and sizes, and Mr. Sunshine was ready.
First he thought the contents were something he’d like to eat and gestured for me to bring the basket to him on the cabinet where he eagerly inspected the contents, then gave me a feline look of mild annoyance.
But as I removed the tomatoes into their respective baskets on the table, he was ready for the real purpose for this gathering basket—not a tomato carrier, but a very comfortable cat bed. He had seen Giuseppe try it out the other day and he was ready to have it all to himself.
Before I had had all the tomatoes out of the basket he was stepping into it…
…and apparently couldn’t figure out why Giuseppe had found it so comfortable with all those lumps in the bottom.
Of course, I rescued the rest of my tomatoes and removed the plaid napkin so he could totally enjoy just the basket, as you see above.
