Daily Photo: Five Blue Cats

Giuseppe comes late to the door I had opened to the warm, rainy afternoon but everyone gets a nose full of the January thaw!
I had been photographing with the internal incandescent light filter set on my camera, which nicely filters out the murky yellow of my kitchen, where we’d been just a few moments earlier, but infuses a blue that I can’t remove when in natural daylight. But on a dark rainy day like today the blue was appropriate, so I used it as part of the composition, even enhanced it to be a little more vivid. I also used a film grain filter so dark areas didn’t just fill in.
