Mewsette, My Erstwhile Framing Supervisor

photo of black cat sleeping
Mewsette, asleep on the job.

Mewsette is my first assistant when I’m framing in my studio, though she plays a more supervisory role, no thumbs and all that. But sometimes she’s in there waiting when I’m not even there yet. when I’m readying for what I’ll do she’s happily circling around on my work table, waving her tail and purring, so happy to get to work.

She settles herself on the opposite end of the table from me and promises not to interfere with what I’m doing. You can see in the slideshow below that she is barely detectable. Who would see a large black cat on a brightly lit white table? Not a trace, until she just can’t contain her joy and begins rolling around, has a bath, then falls asleep on my stack of prints and mats…

Cynthia, I really didn’t want to move her, but I really didn’t want to find black cat hairs inside everything I’d be doing. She was not happy.

I can certainly see the family resemblance although Mewsette is clearly bigger than her older brothers. I really enjoyed the slideshow.

I think Angus and Donal and Mewsette and Mr. Sunshine bear a more of a resemblance to each other than Bean and Giuseppe, just a little rounder and softer and slightly longer fur. Must be in the paternal bloodlines! Moussie would have put on an even longer show if I hadn’t had to get some work done!
