Marketplace: A Selection of Feline Votives

I let my seed lights swag across the photo and it almost looks like there’s a crack in something, but it’s really just an artsy effect.
The last batch I made in May have a few different designs and styles from the ones before and with smaller jars too, and all in summery colors. They all look so nice mixed together with wintry and spring colors from other sets. When I pictured these I really only pictured the art, but I love how the alcohol inks worked out.
Most are etched on the inside with the design adhered on the outside and also have embellishments painted on the outside too. Some have the clear labels and some have the matte finish labels which are frosted on the printed side. I can see that each label works better with different designs, but with the frosted label you can see more detail in some of the designs when the candle isn’t lit. I’m so glad they had these at the closeout sale at my favorite craft supply store or I never would have tried them.
Since we’re not recycling glass anymore I can use those glass jars from condiments and pickles and such for votives, but to be perfectly honest I’d had this idea for so long that I started saving them several years ago, and always did save interesting jars, often using them in the kitchen to store things like beans and pasta. I have no shortage of jars, and each one offers a new opportunity.
I etch them inside or out to diffuse the light from the candle and have either a vinyl label I’ve printed or hand-painting on the outside. Because I’m largely using recycled jars each one is unique and I enjoy fitting the art or image to the shape and size of the jar. To some of them I add an extra finish with alcohol inks in areas where a label won’t cover easily.
All the votives are $15 each including shipping (or $10 if you’re local and can pick up) and include an LED candle.
And a special discount
As with most smaller items I offer a discount when you purchase two or more. Votives are $15.00 each but you can purchase two for $25.00, a $5.00 discount. Use the coupon code 2VOTIVES25 in your shopping cart when you check out.
Below is a sampling of what’s in stock and each photo is linked to the page for that votive. You can find these and other votives featuring cats, butterflies, flowers, nature and wildlife on the Votives page in my Handmade Gifts Gallery.
