Leslie, I’m glad you’ve enjoyed your visit! More photos and stories to come, especially about that family of black cats!
They’re all beautiful!! I’m a total cat lover and have found your blog delightful! I even sent the link along to my cousin who is a total cat person, as well!
Ingrid, I start by shooting lots of photos where they aren’t looking at me! I have one particular flashy thing that’s actually a “princess wand” with a pink star and mylar fringe that I wave above my head when I want that full-focused, big-eyed look directly at the camera whether it’s my cats or one of my painting or photo subjects, but it also reflects and one of them will always look at the ceiling or the wall to follow the little speck of light. These guys have been photographed since before their eyes were open, though, and sometimes I get that “not again” attitude!
Wonderful photo! How on earth did you manage to get all four looking at the camera (well, almost – Mr. Sunshine is looking off to the side a bit) ?
I love black kitties, too – what a wonderful picture!!
I LOVE BLACK CATS…PERFECT FOR FRIDAY THE 13TH, OR ANY DAY.
NICE PHOTO, AS ALWAYS.
KITTY
They are all siblings and have been here since they were babies along with their mother, so I’ve watched them grow and change. There are slight differences in each of them, but there are times when I have to pick one up and look in their face to be sure! When they were babies, I put a dot of tempera paint on one ear to tell them apart.
They still sleep in a pile like a bunch of little kittens!
Absolutely beautiful cats! I love this photo! One of my favorite feline companions is a black cat who has been with me for 10 years. My question for you is – how on earth do you tell them apart? lol
