Featured Daily Sketch: Happy Slapfest, June 20, 2012
From 2012: Pow! Right in the kisser! Bean lands a good one on Giuseppe’s nose. Nothing serious, just a slapfest. Their little entanglements never really amount to anything, mostly they just slap each other, almost as if they really don’t want to hurt each other.
I drew this pretty much without looking at the paper. It happened really fast.
From 2026: It seems to me I photographed them sleeping and sketched them in action. But I love the memory of these two brothers each with a great sense of humor having a friendly tangle. They were so funny when they took this on, lots of facial expressions and exaggerated reactions. I tried to catch that when I sketched them.

I think I accomplished what I'd set out to do three years ago today, a challenge to me and entertainment and enjoyment for you: to create a quick sketch of my cats each day as a way to practice and experiment, and present the sketch on that day with no editing, no waiting, no excuses, just to do the sketch and share it.
