Daily Sketch: Someone is Watching

With six cats in the house I am certain to feel eyes on me most of the time, yet Jelly Bean always gets me when he does this. He is directly behind me on the steps, in a little bit of a shadow, and I need to spin 180 degrees in my chair to really see him.
He’s cute because he’s up to something. Anyone can tell he has a little bit of the devil in him by the slanted, shifty eyes. But it’s not me he’s interested in when I notice there is a bit of subtle feline conversation with at least one of the other cats who is in the room, just a tiny shift in body language and movement of the ears, then suddenly one of them leaps for the stairs and JB is gone! The race is on.

I love the perspective on this sketch. It would make an interesting book cover – something happens, and the cat saw everything!
Chris, you’re right. And it’s so funny to me that when I look at it, I’m surprised to see something I see all the time, JB on the steps. Guess the sketch worked!
Love this!!!
Thanks, Kim! I’m pleased by everyone’s response, I thought it was too specific to my house.
I know that look! That is why I would like to have more than one cat in the house. The way they communicate is fascinating. I see it a bit when Tigger comes by, but their relationship is edgy to say the least!
BTW thank you for your comment re. theReal HouseCats. To be honest it wasn’t until you mentioned there was a show on TV ( Real HouseWives!) that I realised it was a take off. We probably don’t have it in the UK. I don’t generally watch reality TV, but Debbie at Glogirly is very clever with her videos 🙂
I probably don’t want to know what they’re saying!
I’ve only seen the graphics and ads for Real Housewives, and I think I like parodies better than the real thing! Austin’s a star, though.
