Daily Sketch Reprise: Two in a Basket, 2012

cute for words, and the longer it goes on the worse it gets. I had to sketch them, Mewsette and Mr. Sunshine.
. . . . . . .
What was I sketching a year ago today?
Apples and Sunshine, 2012

So none of the cats was doing anything interesting (they regularly complain about me being boring, it’s time they got a little of their own), so I put two of my apples on my worktable in the studio next to Mr. Sunshine, fully engaged in one of his vanity baths. He’s clean enough, he just knows I may take his photo at any time.
The green apples looked lovely against his black fur, but he simply continued with his bath totally ignoring the apples, not even a sniff. I sketched him anyway, better a bathing cat with two apples than just another bathing black cat.
Then suddenly his paw shot forward and slapshot! Both apples were suddenly airborne and he was very pleased with himself.
But it was too fast for me to draw. And I was laughing. I got him to do it a few more times but I was laughing too hard each time to really get that paw right.
I’d better eat those apples soon before they get too bruised to eat.
