Daily Sketch Reprise: A Happily Dreaming Kitty, 2013
Mr. Sunshine always seems very pleased with himself, especially when he’s working on a good kitty dream. He settled himself on my desk, and with one paw extended to flex he occupies the entire pile of papers.
In the background I have lots of little soft curlicues which my scanner is not in the mood to record. Time for a new scanner because I like those soft lines.

Original, Print or Greeting Card from Portraits of Animals
“Oh, thank you,” said Mr. Sunshine as he happily squinted and stepped into the pile of socks I was sorting and folding. “This is just…so nice…purrrrfect,” he said as he began purring loudly and kneading slowly and thoughtfully with both front paws.
Cats and laundry just go together as if the laundry basket had a little bell on it that only cats could hear. Finishing with the socks was out of the question right then, so I sketched him, from my angle, foreshortened, looking down on his happy face, relaxed ears, closed eyes and starfish paws.
Charcoal pencil is good for a quick study. I was going to add some color to the socks with pastel to distinguish them, but I left them as they were. I like the lines.
