I checked to see what anecdote he might have fallen asleep over, and his paw was in the page of anecdotes about Johannes Brahms…perhaps it was the thought of his “Lullaby” that lulled Jelly Bean to sleep.

I think you’re right–I think he’s absorbing the anecdotes while he’s sleeping.
