You’re Looking at Me, Right? 2011

black cat in front of painting
I deserve to be admired.

You’re looking at me, right?

And you’re talking about my great handsomeness and pointing at my special characteristics, like my special white ear hair and my white collar, perhaps my exotic green eyes as I give you my most serious, dignified look.

I know I’m the cutest cat you’ve ever seen.

All this has nothing to do with all the art hanging on the easel and the wall behind me. I am in front and I am the focus of all your attention as long as I sit here.

Just as cute in 2012 as he was in 2011, Jelly Bean will go to great lengths to make himself the center of attention.

Keep returning to this photo.. I love how he seems to have engaged in a staring match with the camera.. knowing full well how gloriously he’s showing against the colours of the picture!! I love black cats.. especially this bold boy with his sprinkle of white tufty bits.

    • Annie, thanks for letting me know this was you, though my choices were narrowed when I saw the “u” in “colours”! He is decidedly having a staring match with the camera!

Ohh!! Of course!! All the spelling differences.. it hadn’t occurred to me before. Funny.
I’ve got just one single spelling foible that raises my hackles for some reason.. we say Maths here. Seeing, n hearing, Math.. is like chalk squeals on a blackboard to me!! Don’t know why, especially..
        Otherwise, I’m easy [!!!] !!! 😀

        • Annie, I always find Maths interesting when I read and hear it! I like to be silly with that “British” spelling.

    • Vicki, I think it would be difficult for anyone but me! But one hint is that Bean is the only one on whom you can see any white, like under his chin and his ear hair, sometimes his belly depending on how he’s sitting. Otherwise I think you’ve got to be their mom!

  • Jelly Bean looks much my babyCat, Raven (born in my home, August 5, 2011). Raven is a fluffy boy.

    • Susan, Bean is pretty smooth but pretty well-rounded, but only when he’s sitting. Not to say he’s fat–when he stands up he is quite svelte, but I’ll bet he and Raven have a few other things in common.

    • Savannah, I try to choose only one photo each day, or a series in one photo shoot, but some days, like today, I could have chosen a dozen different photos. It’s so hard to choose! We hope that the more you see kitties being brave the more brave you’ll become!
