Top Ten Cat-friendly Cities

Yes, someone has taken criteria important to feline afficionados and rated the top 25 metropolitan areas in America for their fitness for feline happiness. The CATalyst Council, concerned with the health and welfare of America’s #1-owned pet and to raise the image of the cat in society—there are 10 million more felines as pets than dogs, but dogs still seem to get top billing when pets are mentioned and they see the veterinarian more often—has published this list on their website: http://www.catalystcouncil.org/. Pittsburgh doesn’t rate in the list, so we Pittsburgh cat owners have to do something about that! Nonetheless, it’s interesting to read about what other cities do for their animals, especially cats.

Read about CATalyst, where “it’s all about the cat”, and the interesting things they are doing around the country to help promote health and welfare for felines. They have downloadable materials if you are assembling a display at a shelter or adoption site, or if you have a clinic or animal service site.
