Sweetly Sleeping
I’ve been looking at Cookie sleep for 19 years, but I could look at a face like this, nestled in the ruffles on my sweater, all the rest of the evening. I certainly didn’t move my hand too much until she awoke! I know Cookie waited all her life to have the seniority for first dibs on me, and I don’t take a minute from her.
And to think that 19 years ago this was the kitty who wasn’t ready to give in, figuring she’d be tossed back outside as she always had been. Once she realized she was “in” she never looked back. Now you can tell she owns me.
Great one-handed photography, by the way and Cookie’s expression is as sweet as her name. I hope she’ll be your eldest for MANY years to come.
I’ve even done the one-handed shots with the big camera, which takes quite a bit of dexterity but is always worth it. I hope for Cookie’s longevity as well, especially as we grow closer in her senior years.

Bernadette this is truly a precious picture. I would not have even breathed hard so as not to wake her. This is so loving. You really have a real appreciation of seeing great feelings in the very unlikely way. Cookie is so content and that foot over your wrist says “don’t move, I love you”

Cookie has always had the sweetest expressions in her sleep, but it wasn’t until I downloaded this photo and looked at it that it nearly brought me to tears.
