Spring In-person and Virtual Open House Update: New Designs

Sienna inspects the new patterns

Sienna supurrvises my latest designs for tote bags, garden flags and more, scroll through to see a selection. As I get ready for my open house, I’m still making things, up to the last minute. You’ve seen some of these designs on other items before now, like masks and accessory bags, votives, note cards and, of course, prints. Now they’ve gone big-time on specially-designed tote bags and on garden flags. I imprinted these transfers with my heat press last night, and today, after setting things up for visitors, I’ve been preparing for sewing. I hope to have photos of the new items tomorrow.

Trimming fabric, with cats. Hamlet had to be sure my fabric had the resquisite number of cat hairs woven into the threads.

See below for details of how you can participate in my open house even if you don’t live anywhere near me.

Six new designs!

“Rescued Kitties” design, inspired by handling feral cats in post-op at one of HCMT’s clinics, but while still under anesthesia neither feral nor friendly, just beautiful cats.

“Brushy Kitties” design, created from a collage of my brush pen sketches.

“Inscrutable Patterns”, created from a single original ink sketch of Mr. Sunshine supurrvising me, made into a random repeating pattern in a variety of colors.

“Market Flowers”, probably the most popular photo I’ve ever taken, of a bucket of cut flowers in a bucket at a farmer’s market.

“Poppies”, my original acrylic painting.

Here is my mockup idea for what the tote bags will look like. “Inscrutable Patterns” will have navy blue trim instead of black, and a few will have natural instead of black.

Product Disclosure

The manufacturer of the fabric transfers I use to make these and many other products, NuCoat, will give me a discount on purchases if I tag them and mention them on social media when I post a product where I’ve used their transfers. I am more than happy to do this for the quality of their transfers and the things I can make when I use them, and their customer service as well. Visit their website: https://nufunactivities.com/

Join us for an In-person and Virtual Open House!

Sunday, May 2 through Saturday May 8, 2021

In person or virtual, you’re invited to our Spring Open House, May 2 through 8! I’m busily working on the newest designs and products, like hand-stenciled doormats, suncatchers, masks, totes and accessory bags, and framed artwork.

I always feel bad that some of you who have been following me from the very beginning can’t be here for my open houses and other events. Often I have items I never list on my website because they sell best in person, and I always have discounts for people who visit.

But I’ll include anyone who is interested and you can shop either in person or online, which means if you are nowhere near us you can still choose from all the stuff AND get the 25% discount I always offer at my open house events. If you are interested, please sign up for my Open House newsletter, information below.

For the safety of in-person attendees, it’s a week long so that people can spread out their visits and we can socially distance. I’ll have things set up in my house as well as my front and back porches and at least one of my tents in the back yard. For our friends at a distance, I’ll photograph or video the setups and share them through the week in other newsletters.Sign up for a 25% discount!

If you shop in person, I give you a 25% discount on your entire order. If you shop online, you need a discount code. Either way, you need to sign up for my Open House notifications so that I can email you the information.

Usually I send post cards because the cards are worth the investment, being far more effective than any electronic communications, but this time I just ran out of time to have them printed and send them. However, I’d love to be able to send you one for future open houses whether you are local or distant. Because I don’t want to broadcast my address to total strangers on social media I keep a list of those who have expressed interest and encourage them to share with friends and family. If you’d like to be on that list click this link and sign up! You can let me know if you want a post card, email, or both. I know sometimes it takes that much to get my attention for events.

Please contact me if you have questions. I look forward to sharing what I’ve created!

    • Dixie, did you get an email from me last week? Either way, here’s the answer! I was out of dog cards and one design I wanted to include, so I ordered a reprint for them, and then I will also have them for my hope house. I should get them today or tomorrow and then I can ship. I used an automated form in my ordering system to send the email, and I think sometimes those are marked as spam by email virus protection. You’ll get a message with the tracking number when I ship.
