On Guard Duty

Guard Duty

Jelly Bean and Mr. Sunshine take their stations on my work table as I begin a day of work in my studio. Very important job being the studio guards; no matter how long or how late I work, I always have plenty of guard cats. The Fantastic Four take it very seriously, and change out in pairs. Of course, they often appear to be sleeping, but that’s just a ruse.

Mimi sleeps on the bed by the door and Cookie in the rag basket; Kelly makes an appearance but does not stay, but every day for at least a few minutes, all eight of us are in this tiny 8′ x 10′ room. I find it very cozy.

I’ve been spending a lot of time in the studio working on art and framing I can’t write about at the moment for surprises and customer preference. I will be catching up after the holidays.

My 19 week old Raven (born at our home) has a brother named Licorice who had adopted his family … their MummyCat is Ivory, snow white kitty. She chose me to foster her on August 1st and her boys were born August 5th 2011. I am truly lucky. Love your art and the kitties pictured today look much my Raven and his brother, Licorice (but my kitties are furrier). I love all cats. They are truly angels dressed up as cuddly felines.

    • Anonymous, these two are brothers, and there were four in the litter, all still with me and their mom, all black. The white spot on Bean and his ear hair about about as much white as we get. But just like Mimi, their mom, I see your MummyCat Ivory knew whose door to come to. I’m sure Raven and Ivory are lovely together! Thanks for your compliments, they are my biggest inspirations.
