Meet Kung-Pow and Dumpling, Oh, and a Couple of Humans

Little Kung-Pow stole the show for me—but then I’m biased as there were humans and a nice dog named involved Nickle as well!

Kung-Pow and Dumpling are brother and sister and ready to go home with someone. Holding them are Kevin G. Lowery, Director of Corporate Communications for Alcoa Inc. and Dan Rossi, Executive Director of the Animal Rescue League and Wildlife Center of Western Pennsylvania.

The Animal Rescue League was presented with a check for $325 today from the Alcoa Foundation representing five cents for each of 6,500 aluminum cans donated to the shelter for recycling as part of the Cans for Pets Program. More on Cans for Pets tomorrow—for now we’ve got to see some cats.

I went into the Cat Adoption Center, a separate building with rooms where felines can play without cages and a main cage area where cats are cared for. I entered one of the open rooms because I saw Sadie, above. Before too long other kitties came out of cubbies to say hello!

And here is a slideshow of all the others I met and other images in this slideshow:
