Marketplace: Sun Shadow Ice & Snow, Seasons on the Panhandle Trail

Despite the fact that I ran away to see the eclipse a few days ago, I still have my annual art exhibit to prepare for! My dedicated felines have been supervising me for long nights and long days, even though it actually appears they are napping.
The event begins tomorrow, and since this is the art I’m focusing on this week, this is what I’ve decided to feature. August 25 and 26 is my annual exhibit on the Panhandle Trail, and I spent most of last week preparing for it, making handmade goods. When I planned my first exhibit four years ago, not sure there would be any more if it didn’t work out well, I focused on the artwork I’ve created on my favorite trail. But I also have a huge volume of photos and the second year I decided to introduce my favorites and many others that are runner’s up while still displaying my artwork. Since then I’ve gone one year with a focus on art and one year with a focus on photography.
This year is once again photography, and the stars of this show are photos from the frosty, icy snowy morning in March this year when I captured the photo above, “Dramatic Light”, and the one below, “Frosted”.

This year, along with “Dramatic Light” and “Frosted” and others from that same magical morning, I have a special collection of wildflowers and butterflies from nearly 20 years of photographing there. I’ve been busy with even more handmade gift items featuring my art and photography of the trail. The photo below shows canvas prints, archival digital prints, framed original photos and paintings, laminated placemats, paper gift bags, gift boxes, coasters and hand painted candle votives, a sample of what I have ready right now.

Please visit Portraits of Animals to read more about the event and about the artwork I’ve included. The best thing about this show is that it’s five minutes from my house and I can run home to feed my cats or pick up things I forgot. They’ll hardly notice I’m gone! (Fat chance of that!)
