Marketplace: New Styles and Art on Keepsake Boxes

Mewsette models my keepsake boxes.

Mewsette made her debut as a new-product model for my latest keepsake boxes in May this year. I wish we’d be able to see her talents grow, but I’m oh-so-glad she made herself available for this one opportunity. She actually came over while I was trying to work things out and hopped up on the wicker loveseat. I guess she’d watched Mimi enough times!

This group of keepsakes is different from previous ones—where most of my keepsake boxes have been made from very well-loved vintage cardboard cigar boxes, most of these boxes are quite new and are made of light-weight wood instead of cardboard, and they also have far more sparkly things on the original packaging than the older boxes. The boxes themselves still have the same wonderful traditional decoration, patterns and bling that I love to work with.

They’ve already sold to customers who subscribe to The Creative Cat Preview Newsletter, but I’ve replaced the ones that sold with similar boxes. But if you’d be interested in signing up for my monthly newsletter with either my newest designs or a special deal, you can sign up here.

I included some of my newest artwork too.

Another difference is that instead of painting over areas I want to cover on the original box, I printed sections of the painting and used that to cover the areas. I’ve long been wanting to try that and finally decided to just go ahead and do it. Check the edges on the Allegro Moderato box below—Allegro is on the front edge, and the sheet music is on the side, another section is on the other side.

Some of the boxes are very slim, some tall, each is so different it made this particular batch very exciting.

I didn’t make any of the smaller and medium mache boxes this time. Taking care of Mewsette during this time I just ran out of time, but I gladly gave that to care for her. Now I have the time and space to make them, so I’ll add them to the gallery on the Keepsake Boxes page and share them here.

Use them to store your kitty’s keepsakes or your own, or jewelry or office items and much more. Some people use them to keep their kitty’s cremains. Give them as a gift or use them as gift boxes.

And don’t forget that I often have other handmade gifts using the same artwork, like Votive Lamps. They make wonderful gift pairings to celebrate a kitty who looks like the art, or to memorialize one.

Order a Keepsake Box, or Two!

They are $25.00 each when you purchase one, but you’ll find special pricing of $15.00 each when you purchase two or more, no coupon code needed. That price includes shipping, handling and taxes.

Don’t forget, each one is unique, and when it’s gone, it’s gone.

You can find them my Keepsake Boxes page on Portraits of Animals.
