Join us for an Open House!
In person or virtual, you’re invited to our Autumn Open House, October 5 to 11! I’m busily working on the newest designs and products, like hand-stenciled doormats, suncatchers, masks, totes and accessory bags, and framed artwork.
I always feel bad that some of you who have been following me from the very beginning can’t be here for my open houses and other events. Often I have items I never list on my website because they sell best in person, and I always have discounts for people who visit.
But I’ll include anyone who is interested and you can shop either in person or online, which means if you are nowhere near us you can still choose from all the stuff AND get the 25% discount I always offer at my open house events. If you are interested, please sign up for my Open House newsletter, information below.
For the safety of in-person attendees, it’s a week long so that people can spread out their visits and we can socially distance. I’ll have things set up in my house as well as my front and back porches and at least one of my tents in the back yard. For our friends at a distance, I’ll photograph or video the setups and share them through the week in other newsletters.
I’m celebrating this year too—can you believe it’s been almost a year since my hip replacement, October 3? What a year it’s been! I’m celebrating my hip surgery, my recovery as well as surviving this past year with patchy income and limited ability for part of it, following two years of even more limited ability and more patchy income. You can’t take me down too easily! And it’s also had to believe that October 19 is my 30th anniversary of the day I closed on this house! Thirty years, I never intended to be here this long but here I am, and it’s another thing to celebrate.
I’m grateful to have been busy with design work for the past month because that represented income for now and for savings for the future. Because of that, I won’t start with as many new products or as many items as I had planned to make since I’m still settling out my studio spaces and finally receiving things I’d ordered. But I’ll be working on things right up to the last minute and even through the week. I’m also planning at least one more open house in November, December, or both, conditions permitting.
Setting Up and Playing It Safe
Days and Hours
To accommodate the weather and the size of my house, I have changed the days I’ll be open. This also applies to virtual visitors.
- Monday, October 5 to Sunday, October 11
- Noon to 6:00 each day, but you can make appointments before and after those hours if necessary.
The weather this coming weekend is supposed to be cool and possibly rainy, but next week is forecast to be warmer than this past week, all reasons to hold off for a few days. But good news: a screen I’d ordered for printing is actually ready now, so I can add a few new products using that design that I hadn’t planned on.
I’m also setting up for safety as well as comfort.
- Half of this sale is indoors, half outdoors, on my porches and under a tent.
- I am asking everyone who visits in person to wear a mask.
- I will have masks, bleach wipes, hand sanitizer and gloves available for all visitors.
- I’ll have the doors and possibly the windows open to allow for air circulation and to keep droplets from concentrating indoors. Please dress accordingly.
- I am also asking everyone who visits to RSVP with an approximate day and time so that I can do my best to have only one or two visitors or groups at one time and we can social distance. Email email@example.com, call 412-429-9553, text 412-218-6661.
You can shop online whether you’re local or not, and if you’re local you can shop both in person and online. You can shop in person and return during the week as many times as you want, or shop in person and online. You’ll get the 25% discount on all your purchases made between October 5 and October 11 no matter how they’re made. You can contact me about something you saw in a photo or video, or if it’s not listed on my website for more information. Remember that if an item is purchased in person it’s not taken out of my inventory online until I do it manually. I hope to do that promptly.
I will no doubt update with blog posts and send out other newsletters to give special details to you at a distance.
Sign up for a 25% discount!
If you shop in person, I give you a 25% discount on your entire order. If you shop online, you need a discount code. Either way, you need to sign up for my Open House notifications so that I can email you the information, or send a snail mail post card, whichever works best for you.
Not sure if it will be warm enough but we are hoping!
