Lucy

Your petite silhouette lingers
long, graceful legs tipped with soundless slender paws
the waving tendril of a tail curls in a perfect circle
as you pause in your eternal dance
and enrich my life,
awaken nascent creative visions
and laughter at the silly joy of youth,
yellow eyes illumining my world
leaving rainbows in your wake;
the images you inspired in your brief existence
ease the sadness of your leaving,
as I remember and render your antics
I can share you with the world.

Remembering Lucy.

. . . . . . .
July 10 is the day we lost Lucy, and the day I saw Mimi in my garden, and the day I decided she needed to come to me, along with her babies, and despite all the pain of love I would not turn away from my feline companions.
A day filled with such extreme sadness and joy, and forever change.
We remember Lucy, and thank her for her gifts.

Purrs to you as you remember Lucy today. She was beautiful.
Thank you, Island Cats, her life was so short, but she is always remembered here.
Simply beautiful and poignant. My first beloved Siamese was born on that day. A sweet cancerian gal. I’m sure Lucy was too.
So many lives intertwined, Layla; July is a big month. Lucy was actually an Aries–she was born on April Fool’s Day, she died on July 10, but that was the reason, and that was the day, Mimi came into my life.
A very nice post in memory of another gorgeous black kitty. July 10th seems to be both a sad and a joyous day for you. Hope you have wonderful memories of Lucy to sustain you. Purrs and hugs, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Jo
And I have Mimi and her wonderful children, Kitties Blue. I may not have ever met them, and if I had it would have been as another litter of kittens to find homes for. Thanks!
What a sweet/sad memory of Lucy…we’re sorry we did not know her…
But you do, through her mom and half-siblings. I felt Lucy’s presence the moment I brought them in, and she’s been her with them ever since.
