Lucky Seven

seven cats in kitchen
My Lucky Seven cats.

Here they are in a really lucky shot—all seven of my household on the cabinet! Cookie and Kelly got their special noms as senior girls while I was working in the kitchen, and one by one all the others gathered around. Normally I don’t let all the others up on the cabinet, but they moved in so fast and then I realized the photo potential.

In front, the two tortie girls with their faces in the bowls are Kelly and Cookie. Behind are Mewsette, Mr. Sunshine, Giuseppe, Jelly Bean and Mimi.

This cabinet is only about 20″ x 30″, but when food is an issue they can crowd anywhere, though I think this might be the absolute capacity for this particular crowd of cats.

  • Bernadette, what a great photo. Do you have 5 black kitties – how wonderful!

    • Chris, yes, mom and four “kittens”, though they are hardly kitten-sized any more, as you can see. Only one has meaningful white spots, the others are all black. Great fun!

    • Two senior torties can hold back five young kitties! Never understimate the power of a tortie.
