From the Archives: Birdwatchers in Training, 2007
Just because there’s been so much birdwatching happening at this very window I had to share this bright photo of three of the Curious Quartet as they were investigating their new surroundings on this date in 2007. At just past four months old they were finally permitted downstairs with the adults for an hour or so twice a day, and they made the most of it. No one, not even their mom, needed to point out the birds at the feeders—and they’ve been watching Cat TV ever since, in all seasons. From left to right it’s Bean, Giuseppe and Sunshine. I just want to grab each of those little shiny kittens and (gently) squeeze and (fervently) kiss them all over! In fact, I probably did.
At one time I kept my plants on this table so full of winter light, but this was the last time they were hereafter curious kittens ate plants, ran through them so they could track muddy pawprints all over, and used them as handy and comfortable kitty beds, pretending they were sleeping in the great outdoors in the garden.
You can see another photo from this day in this article on “homemade treat cakes”. And if you look closely at both of the photos you’ll see the inspiration for this card. Working cats from a very young age!
