Friday Four and More: Shenanigans in the Bathroom, 2011, Part 2

There were days with these four and more that I took so many photos that I was overwhelmed and never used more than one or two. I wanted to use them all to make something special that would really share the moment, especially before I had the capacity for taking videos. Making a video from a group of photos was really time-consuming then, time I rarely had. It still is with the same software, but updated, so not as much time. Now I have a little more time for projects like this. As I mentioned yesterday in Friday Four and More Part 1 I took all the photos I wanted to share and made a five-minute video with music and captions for you to enjoy.

But first, a few of my favorites from this particular morning, and a very special one just above the video.

Mimi this Morning

On March 25, 2011, I fell in love. Or I realized I had fallen in love long before. Probably the first time I saw the tiny black cat out on the sidewalk, or later in my garden, or outside the basement door silently communicating with Kelly, or a dozen other times before that day, certainly the day that Lucy, in memory, asked me to rescue her mom. As for Mimi, I’m sure she also had the same experience. But that day, and this moment pictured above, was the one Mimi and I realized that she wasn’t just the mother of the kittens who were so easy to love and so fun to play with, and I wasn’t just the human who brought her and her kittens to safety. You can see it in her face, and I’m sure she could see it in mine.
So for today’s rescue story, in 2013 as Mimi literally sits on my right hand after a busy morning of chasing me around and talking to me, checking out my breakfast and lunch (both unsatisfactory to her), organizing her grown children and cleaning them up and observing the neighborhood outside each door and window, we quietly celebrate our anniversary.Â
I will share the rest of the story this coming Tuesday, the day I try to post rescue stories, which is also March 24, one day prior to “our anniversary.”
And now for the video!
It begins with the photos from yesterday’s post for context, then continues with lots of sunny photos with Mewsette, Mr. Sunshine and Mimi. It’s about 5:25.

You have a very special feline family.
They were such an amazing group, and stayed together from their first day to their last. I miss them so much, but so many memories.
