Foster Adoption Update: Bert

Simon was formerly Bert when he was here as a foster, and doesn’t he look grand! His adopter, Christy, regularly shares photos on my Facebook page and it’s about time I shared them here. Above it’s Simon in “his” chair. Note his ear-tip—this guy was once considered feral and too unsocialized to live indoors. He and his brother Ernie entered the shelter as “hissy kittens”, a little older at 12 weeks, and were actually going to be put to sleep because they needed socialization. The Homeless Cat Management Team took them on through our fosters, and just in case socialization may not be possible for them and they needed to be placed with a managed colony each was ear-tipped. Though it took a while, both Bert/Simon and Ernie did socialize and found wonderful forever homes.

“I wonder if he is comfortable living with me?” Christy posted with the photo below.

“Wow, you need to do something about his stress levels!” I said.

“Well, I did have a kitty yoga master consult.”

And here he and his house panther housemate, Piper.
