From 2014: You know how they are with these canvas shopping bags—they hardly hit the floor before you see a cat slowly disappearing into them, just the tail and maybe a leg left and then it’s just too late. Mimi reappeared later, though.

Don’t worry, I keep a close eye on all my bags so no one gets stuck inside one or gets a handle wrapped around them. This one had small pieces of artwork in it which I removed only to have it fall over and that was when the incident with Mimi happened. Yes, I sketched it before I removed Mimi from the bag.

From 2026: Mimi was always so curious and ready to investigate anything new, especially containers, even in her last months. When I couldn’t find her for half the day, at any point in her life bere, it wasn’t so funny that she’d found a tiny spot that only fit her somewhere that I could neither see nor access. I never knew there were so many of those in this tiny house. At least she only visited those places once and didn’t do that to me every day.

I think I accomplished what I'd set out to do three years ago today, a challenge to me and entertainment and enjoyment for you: to create a quick sketch of my cats each day as a way to practice and experiment, and present the sketch on that day with no editing, no waiting, no excuses, just to do the sketch and share it.
