Featured Daily Sketch: Everyone’s On My Desk, 2012

And this is what it feels like. Mimi took off, so she’s not in here. Mewsette, in red, is bathing herself, Giuseppe, green, and Mr. Sunshine, orange, are bathing each other, and Jelly Bean, blue, dozed through most of it even when Sunshine gave him a little bath. Someone, whose name begins with an “S”, decided to chew on the end of my marker at unscheduled moments, resulting in some interesting details in this sketch, but perhaps it’s a day for the kids to have their chance at creative endeavors with my art materials.
Even now, they are blocking the monitor, so please forgive me for typos.
I was away for most of the afternoon on a photo shoot. You’d think I’d been gone for several weeks by the way they’re acting!
. . . . . . .

Where to find “Everyone’s On My Desk”
This sketch was really popular on a mousepad, seen here, and I used one on my desk for a decade, but the only blanks I can find to use are made with dye sublimation and I don’t have that equipment. I also had it on magnets of various sizes and wood-mounted art. I was recently looking at my old, stained and faded mousepad and wondering what I should add it to next! Tiles, small keepsakes, all-over pattern on something? If you have any ideas, please let me know!
Daily Sketches 2011 to 2015
I think I accomplished what I'd set out to do three years ago today, a challenge to me and entertainment and enjoyment for you: to create a quick sketch of my cats each day as a way to practice and experiment, and present the sketch on that day with no editing, no waiting, no excuses, just to do the sketch and share it.

Feline Gift Items on Portraits of Animals
This isn’t the same art, but same concept, titled “Four Cats Bathing,” mounted on a 4″ x 4″ wood block so you can see what it looks like. Technically, these are surfaces for painting, and they are also used for crafting and even small containers. They can hang on the wall because of the “cradling,” the wood on the back that gives it the height, and they can stand on a surface, also because of that cradling. I also have small square and round keepsake boxes. I like the all-over pattern on something too. Stay tuned.

That’s such a fun sketch!
It was pretty fun to try to figure out how to interpret the four of them milling around in this little spot on my desk right in front of the monitor.
Nice sketch, so colorful.
Who said black cats had to be black?
