Daily Sketch: Watching the Storm
We had a surprise storm late today, fast and noisy and dark, with lots of rain and wind, and then we had a neighbor’s tree in our yard. More storms came later, not as bad as the first, but bad enough to lose our electricity again. What else for me to do but a good old-fashioned manual sketch on paper? And what better subject than a couple of cats looking out the window at the rains and waving branches.

Love this and I see a face in profile in the lower left side!
That’s cool, Layla! I actually several faces and figures, and it’s a random event–I took the excess pastel and little chips from the pastel stick that were sitting on the paper and smeared them around to do the background, so who knows what was speaking through my fingertips, like a creative Ouija?
Glad all the damage you had was just the tree in your yard. Those storms are so scary and you two kitties were very brave to watch out the window at it. We usually head Under the Bed. Hope you have a great week end.
Marg, after the big tree fell, I think they wanted to be prepared, and also be near me!
We love watching the rain. That is when we’re not napping through it.

Katie
Katie, it was so exciting–the trees were everywhere earlier! We were watching to make sure no more trees fell down. Otherwise, we’d be just a big black pile of fur sleeping on the bed.
Hope everything is back to normal now (except for the neighbor’s tree that’ll have to wait until tomorrow, I guess)!
Purrs
Texas, Mimi and I thoroughly inspected the tree this morning and have a full report on the situation!
