Daily Sketch: Hot Afternoon

Mr. Sunshine looks out the window, and looks hot; today was quite warm. He’d been bathing, and I was trying to capture his silhouette in one pass with these layered horizontal strokes, not quite but interesting nonetheless. I will be exploring this because it gives me exercise in seeing the try silhouette of my subject without breaking him down into his parts, tail, back, paws and so on, and also first outlining his silhouette. Fun!

What was I sketching a year ago today?

The first ink cartridge in my in brush pen is drying out so I’m experimenting with a mix of black fill and brushy line…see the original sketch and read more about it.
