Daily Sketch: Rolling

There is a spot on my kitchen floor where someone, some time in this house’s life, must have spilled some pretty potent nip and it permeated the floorboards. Years worth of kitties have stopped in that spot, dropped and rolled around like mad kitties, and not one has ever told me why.

But he does say, “Go ahead, touch that belly.”

My challenge was to capture an ecstatic Mr. Sunshine in the act, which of course I could not, but I did my best and had a heck of a lot of fun with it.

What was I sketching a year ago today?

  • This is such a funny story and sketch! The final effect makes me think you may have had a little ‘nip yourself! (Although I know that has nothing to do with the catnip aura.)

Another possibility for the kitties’ interest in that spot? Perhaps it’s Jimmy Hoffa. . . with catnip shoes.

    • Meg, every cat in my house has rolled on this spot, even when I’ve moved furniture around several times. It could also be some long-ago kitty hid his stash between the floorboards!
