Daily Sketch Reprise: Two Blue Cats

Mr. Sunshine and Giuseppe spent some time lazing about on my work table, Giuseppe mostly sleeping, Mr. Sunshine bathing, by turns, himself and Giuseppe’s face.
At first Mr. Sunshine had his paw on Giuseppe’s neck, but decided to change his angle and put his paw over Giuseppe’s paw; you can see the initial sketch lines, which I left in place.
All the while Sunshine was at his task Giuseppe barely moved, having a really good nap in the loving paws of his brother.
I have my old pastel pencils in a cup on my drafting table upstairs in my studio, intended for finishing initial sketches and finishing touches on pastel works, but rarely for standalone sketches. Because Kelly was happily sleeping on my lap, I had to use what was handy, but I like the effect. I may use them more often.
And so I did use those pencils more often! I never tire of sketching the grace of cats’ legs and tails, the relaxed way they lounge on their sides. I like to draw toes too.

And we LOVE how you capture their lounging legs and toes!!!
Thanks, ladies! I look for reasons to sketch their toes!
