Daily Sketch Reprise: Rolling Around, 2013

Giuseppe was having a really good roll around on the floor, for no apparent reason except that it made him happy. I think we should all do that each day!

This was another fun attempt to follow a moving target with my eyes while drawing with my hand and not looking at the paper. I really like using a mid-range tone and color with my black and white charcoal pencils.

I love, love, Jelly Bean’s shape. He’s not fat, he’s not even too round, but somehow when he sits in certain positions I just want to pick him up he looks so pleasingly rounded. Find it on Portraits of Animals.
