Daily Sketch Reprise: In the Sink, 2013, and more

Jelly Bean naps in the sink. He is napping with awareness on the chance I might turn on the faucet just a tiny bit so he can drink.

He chose this pose over a more complimentary one of him standing triumphantly atop the wardrobe after he’d raced me up the stairs, and won, his end point being not just the landing but a two-part leap onto the wardrobe. But he would not oblige and so gets the lumpy pose in the sink. But he’s still cute.

Giuseppe and Mewsette did their best to arrange themselves on the stool while still having space for both. This was a few moments of literally uneasy balance.

Brush pen is getting a little ragged. Think I’ll soak the brush part.

That’s one way to win the basket, just lie down atop your brother so he has to get out from under you. this is Jelly Bean’s new tactic. It was also very fun to watch. Jelly Bean always seems so innocent and polite, but just ask his siblings—he’s a real trouble maker!

Another Nap, 2012

Well, they nap a lot, especially in a pile, especially on my desk. I had actually intended to do a little more with this but the phone rang, they got up and the day went on. No worry, there will be another day for Giuseppe, Mewsette and Jelly Bean to pose for a quick portrait.

Studio Wrestling, 2013

In one corner it’s the Amazing Mr. Sunshine and in the other it’s Sir Jelly of Bean!

It’s studio wrestling here every morning between after-breakfast nap and mid-day nap.

I waited all day for them to finish their match so I could finish my sketch, I just had to leave it as it was.

Cat With Laundry, 2013

Look for the garment with ears.

In a house with cats, where there is laundry, there is at least one cat. Jelly Bean was the lucky winner of the laundry pile this time.

This is one I’d like to work with, flatten out the garments so they have no patterns and probably use different colors, but leave Bean the same, just a simple, colorful little sketch.
