From four years ago…January 1 was Mlle.’s birthday. She was born in 2000, and we lost her in 2017. But Giuseppe always had the habit of singing at the big north window and Mlle.’s mama and I always said he was singing to her.

Joyeux Anniversaire 13 à Mlle. Daisy Emerald Marguerite! My most exquisite beloved flower, I am looking out the big window to the northeast where you live in the city named for kings in the cold north land, I reach for the falling snowflakes and tell them to rush off on the wind and find your third-story window looking out over the great St. Lawrence River and bear my message of passionate amore. I sing for you my own song…

Yes, Giuseppe is napping, but it’s not a serious nap, it’s a vigilant nap. He’s on my worktable under the lights while I am at my drafting table and computer in my studio, and apparently he’s been assigned to keep an eye on me. Read more and purchase.
