Daily Sketch: Relaxed

Today I’m still exploring all those interesting foreshortened Giuseppe angles since I had such difficulty yesterday although it came out okay. You can see he waited until I began to sketch to resettle himself with the series of lines above his back…this is how it is sometimes, but always worth it for the outcome.

What was I sketching a year ago today?

Hmmm, testing some new/old watercolor pencils found in a box of stuff, not sure but they might be ready to retire. These weren’t quite the colors I was expecting, some blended nicely, others ended up with a lot of scribbling….read more, and see a black and white version of this painting as well.

  • You have expressed so much with Giuseppe’s neck and throat that it relaxes me just to look at it.
Tomorrow, maybe I’ll have it tattooed on the inside of my eyelids.

    • Meg, I was very pleased with his head, profile, ears and neck, and then the stretched legs, and no background, no scene–he was on the wardrobe again but I just wanted to focus on him.
