Mimi sits squarely on a little folded square of blanket, having a very thorough bath, including lots of little flourishes to gake sure each hair is cleaned. Sketched in ink brush pen while Mimi bathed on the floor next to me.

You have a gift for ink drawing, Bernadette. I love the blanket’s economy of line contrasted with the luxe treatment you gave to Mimi. She even looks French!

Meg, you always see a little deeper into my sketches–that plain rectangle was so intentional with Mimi’s flourishes–usually these sketches are just the cat, but I really felt the blanket enhanced Mimi. And remember, the accent is on the second syllable, in the French way!

P.S. As soon as I was finished, I decided I would use this image as a repeating pattern like “Just Fits”, and make the blanket a different color in each one and add a background color!

Outstanding. Maybe you should have Mimi lying on a blanket made of repeating “Mimi-lying-on-a-blanket” fabric.
Too mind-blowing? Too Dada? Too Stephen Colbert?

Or in a wide picture frame covered with Mimis on a blanket?! Spiegel im spiegel?
