Daily Sketch: Mewsette, Apples and Books
There’s something about Mewsette and apples, and about Mewsette and the way she settles herself in among objects, that is always visually inspiring. I could do many black-cat-with-still-lifes when Mewsette decides to settle somewhere in the room with me an meditates, like to day when I’d transferred a bunch of things onto my work table in the studio and Mewsette carefully chose a spot in among them, settled down and watched me.
The old computer in my studio is about ready to retire, and doesn’t keep a reliable internet connection; that’s okay since it’s my really old one and it’s only in there as a convenience, but it’s also connected to my better scanner and printer. Sigh; one more complication. I tried carrying things to my office to scan but this scanner never was very good. So this means scanning upstairs and getting it onto a flash drive to come downstairs to do my post. That’s okay, I needed the exercise, and the cats all enjoy running up and down the stairs with me. Until I get the computer arrangements figured out, I guess I’ll get a little more of an aerobic workout!

I had a white cat with blue eyes named Simone Mewsette. I love the first sketch with the apples.
Those lovely French names are so special, McGuffy Ann–Mewsette is named for the character Musetta in the opera La Boheme.
