Daily Sketch: Cuddles

This was the scene when Sunshine and Mewsette decided to cuddle down for a nap after the sisterly forehead lick earlier today. Spooning together, Mr. Sunshine slept with his chin on Mewsette’s back.

I have always loved it when my cats settle on the bed in the afternoon. I often tiptoe up the stairs so I don’t disturb them, hoping to capture their naps in the reflected light from the window. I change the bedspread each month in part because of the collection of cat furs on it and because I find the change refreshing. I just changed the bedspread from the purple and white pinwheel quilt I love in summer to the white chenille in long awning stripes of texture, knowing it would provide a bright background to autumn afternoon naps.

. . . . . . .

What other sketches did I post around this date?

They don’t look like raspberries to me, but that’s what the box said. I enjoyed looking at their composition, Giuseppes upright silhouette and Mr. Sunshine’s cat curl to rest, his eyes open. This new box is a lot sturdier, but still it strains under its load of black cat. Mr. Sunshine curls up to rest while Giuseppe is vigilant; there are birds to be watched. They stayed just long enough for me to catch their poses, and I could take my time in coloring up the box.

My markers kind of failed me on this since you can’t see the wording, but the box reads “Raspberries”, trust me.

Georgia and Julie, I think we should post images of kitties cuddling all over the world for a more peaceful existence.
