Daily Sketch: Boyz at Play 2

sketch of three cats
Boyz at Play, purple gel pen © B.E. Kazmarski

Quite the play session, though I don’t know what the object was, perhaps a tiny spider since they’ve been appearing as the spring progresses. Jelly Bean is in front pouncing, his tail straight up in the air with that little bend near the top. Giuseppe needs to be the center of everything as an opera star should be, and tries to angle around Bean for a swat at whatever it is. Mr. Sunshine hangs in the background waiting for whatever it is to come his way and he’ll show it who’s boss. The three were on the table in front of the window.

Purple gel pen because that was what I grabbed when I wanted to sketch. Why not?

Why not purple gel pen?? As long as you can manage a decent image with it?? Which you obviously did.
    Beautiful, Bernadette. Thank You.

    • Annie, I used to have a real attitude about ballpoint and later gel pen sketches, like they should be in some “official” art material. One drawback is that, if you look at some of the “unofficial” art materials later they are faded or have bled into the paper, and likely this gel pen will as well, but I was in the mood for purple and the pen was handy. Getting up to get something else would have made them all leave!

Yes, It would probably have broken the moment to have gotten up for an ‘official’ pen. Hope the purple gel endures. xxx
