Daily Sketch: Blue-Brown Cats

Mewsette gave Jelly Bean a very slow and thorough bath, just right for a sketch for me because they weren’t moving too much.
The blue is really more of a teal and I like that color—it’s in the cup of old pastel pencils I have at my desk so it’s always easy to grab. It wasn’t strong enough to carry the shapes, though, and once I got the teal sketch done it looked a little muddled. I chose the chocolaty sepia to add just an outline for definition, the warm color a nice complement to the cooler teal.

As always – beautiful. I love this one. Cat’s grooming each other is one of the nicest things to watch.
They are so sweet it’s all I can do not to sketch them at this every day.
