Daily Sketch: Black Cats on Green Sheets

Somebody unmade the bed today, and somebody else made it up to their liking, nice and wrinkled and fluffy, with lots of soft spots for snuggling and cuddling. Mimi and Jelly Bean settled on the mint green tattersall sheets, such a contrast in their blackness!

I had wanted the green to be pure green with no other colors mixed, but forgot how that particular black pastel would dust off when I blew away the excess. Still, I like the contrast of the black cats on the green sheets.

Do you think I like green?

I had an unfinished sketch from yesterday, but after riding my bike on my errands in this incredible weather I developed a spasm in my back that worsened over the hours. I love to ride my bike and choose that over my car whenever possible, but the angle at which I lean over the handlebars has never been good for a back with enough scoliosis to be a problem and it’s gotten worse as I’ve gotten older. I laid down to relax it and never finished things last night, including at least posting last year’s sketch. Soon perhaps a new bike, maybe like one of those old Schwinn Cruisers with old-fashioned handlebars, the one I learned to ride on. AQnd maybe while I’m out, I’ll sketch Amber Buttercup in her window!

What was I sketching a year ago today?
