Daily Sketch: Autumn Afternoon Nap

We ended up without too much sun today, but for a while it was pretty bright yellow, hence the background color with green leaves and a purple aster cat maybe? Either way, it’s Giuseppe and Mimi in my favorite autumn colors.
I sketched the two a few times with my brush pen trying to get the best angle, but only used one of the sketches as my daily sketch on August 10. But there there they were again yesterday, and the autumn sunlight shone for a bit and olive green leaves and other autumn colors gave me this idea and brought back the sketch. That’s another something new, creating several sketches at one time and then going back to them one by one. I actually didn’t like this sketch when I first looked at it, in part because I was seeing something else that I wanted. But I never toss anything and often I go back to something I didn’t care for and wonder what I was thinking! This is much improved with the addition of color, and fun too!

You Want This Box?

Mimi is being as defiant as she ever gets, occupying a box intended to store cards. Mimi doesn’t look like a card to me, but she won’t move. I have to pull out a little of my own manipulation to get my box back, but first, she’s so cute, I have to sketch her. Wouldn’t you know it, as soon as I begin to sketch, Mimi decides she’s tired of the box. We managed to meet in the middle—I got my sketch, Mimi got her box a little longer. Now she’s on my lap slowly kneading the air and my knee with her front paws.
Mewsette is in the box.

WOW – cool sketches. Someone in the family has talent!!!
Thanks, Mario! She has some pretty inspiring kitties!
We had a little sun in Chicago. I am sure my cats were in their favorite warm spots, while I was at work.
In autumn even just that is enough! And I’m sure your cats found it too, even if they complained when you got home.
