Daily Photo: Seven

Yes, all seven black cats in one room and nearly in one place! I couldn’t get them all on top of the cabinet or at least on the table and cabinet—Bella is on the floor next to the cabinet. Yes, treats were involved, but they were worth it, and that’s how I’ve always organized a large household of cats for meals. It’s been fun integrating the two kittens to the adults, and because it’s gone so well, even letting them roam the basement, I thought a little celebration on a sunny afternoon was in order. I’m still hoping for all of them on the cabinet though, or on something. Smokie and Bella do run and play and explore, but they hang with me and the ninjas too.
Someone left Smokie in charge of menu supervision. He just doesn’t know what to do!

Giuseppe comes along and slides himself in next to Smokie, asking me just who left the kid in control? And whether or not the kid got something special that Giuseppe himself should have gotten? Indignant.

Later when menu supervision was over Mimi and Bella came to spend some time in, well, whatever supervision, or just to make sure they didn’t miss anything.

Bella finds a creative way to prop her head up as she plays the role of the world-weary house panther.

Or just the weary house panther. Today she checked in the refrigerator when the door was open, found the package of the Five’s raw food thawing, grabbed it and ran, later jumped on the stove (eek, yes!) and grabbed my piece of toast from my plate where I’d put it so “no one could get it” then later hopped up to try my linguine with marinara and found it good, and tried to push the handle on the screen door. She is a very busy kitty, she likes to eat everything that is food for her or me and takes exploratory bites of everything she passes and has no fear of anything anymore. I’m glad she confident, now we need to back off a bit. But she’s so much fun! She gives the best nose kisses of any kitty. She reminds me of another creative black cat who got himself into a lot of predicaments…

The Singing Window Cleaner is Back, 2013

Giuseppe vigorously rubs wipes his paw on the glass to clear a spot in the steam through which to watch the birds at the feeder.
Our weather has turned from mild, even warm Indian Summer to cold and rainy autumn—we even have snow forecast for a few nights coming up. We knew when the bunny showed up yesterday that a change in the weather was imminent, and it’s nice to be in a warm and steamy kitchen on a cold and rainy day, when you have to clear the steam from the windows.
Giuseppe talks about most of the things he does, and cleaning the windows is no different.
Wish I could chew on my cat grass
While watching the birds at the feeder
Instead I’m wiping my paws on the window glass
Whilst singing a bit of a lieder
to my precious Mademoiselle.
Such a talented kitty, my Giuseppe Basil Verdi. Never a dull moment. He did this last year too in Giuseppe Does Windows and Giuseppe Does the Whole Window.

“I’m Not Listening”, 2012

It’s the feline version of sticking your paws in your ears and singing, “Lalalalalalalalala……”
Mewsette hears every word I say.
Cats can never keep their ears under control.

I have to say, I do like it, Mr. Sunshine, subtle, almost abstract. I have some talented cats here. I do like the photos that show all the assets of my beautiful cats, but I also like the abstract shots that happen to have a cat in them in a very artful way. Read more, and purchase.

You did it!!!
The seven black feline escorts in one picture. Do you remember I dreamt about it some time ago?
It is so good to know the young ones are doing so well at socializing.
News full of light.
Maru, you are right, but it was not easy to get a clear picture! So glad I got at least one though.
So am I.
I do not think it is possible to get a really clear photo of seven felines… unless they are asleep.
