Daily Photo Reprise: Winter Reflections, 2011

tortoiseshell cat napping in the sun
Naptime for Cookie

Every 18-year-old kitty deserves to nap in the sun on the table curled into an old flannel bathrobe.

Why do I have a bathrobe on my kitchen table? Doesn’t every cat owner have some sort of feline comfort area on their table? It was warm in the kitchen when the sun was shining so I took it off  and laid it on the table to grab when I went upstairs; instead, Cookie settled on it. How dare I consider moving it? And what a wonderful reflection, both literally and figuratively.

Beautiful picture, Reflection is my favorite technique in photography, there’s something graceful and stuning when you look on an object, building, person or animal twice or just in a reflection. You can use any surface – building, glass, window, river, polished table. You’ve got a great outcome. I like when the object is devided into parts like this reflection on a skyscraper . Or it can be in pieces of broken glass or mirror. Have you ever try something like that?

    • Meredith, thank you very much! I like to catch reflections where you least expect to, and with my cats it’s often on windows and doors but also this table and others. Water is next whether it’s still or broken and also at night in the rain (http://bernadettestoday.wordpress.com/2012/12/03/holiday-lights-in-the-rain-2/), and I do love those reflections on glass buildings. Follow that link to my blog “Today” and you’ll find more. Thanks for visiting.

    • Diana, she was always happy and peaceful, and never grumpy, even as a senior lady.
