Daily Photo Reprise: Something Must Be Done, 2012

two cats inside back door
Kelly and Mimi observe me outdoors; are they plotting something?

Isn’t something wrong with this picture? And not just the funny reflections on the glass?

The girls are inside and I am outside. That’s what.

Mimi and Kelly each spend a little time outside with me, separately since I can’t run in two different directions if they decide to part ways in the yard. I am glad for their company since Cookie is gone, though Cookie was steadfastly my guardian out there and these two have other ideas.

I’d love to see the two of them become friends. Kelly is a little intimidated by the black cats, all of them, and she doesn’t have an older buddy any more. Still, she and Mimi curled on my desk with Cookie and Namir and Peaches when Mimi first joined us, and in many ways they are alike. Let’s hope for a new friendship.

Well, they did learn to get along, and each of them spent some time out in the yard with me until the weather just got too hot. Mimi and I were out there today (as you’ll see later) and we remembered little Kelly—and Cookie and Namir and all the others— as we wandered among the forget me nots and the garden.
