Daily Photo: Putting Things in Perspective

Bella puts things in perspective, at least from her angle on things.

As I fly about the house gathering materials and then run to settle into my studio, Bella gives me one of her most feline looks and tells me not to be so full of myself. She doesn’t understand, this is how I have fun!

From the morning after Thanksgiving…

“We heard some other cats had a turkey dinner yesterday.”
Who told them? I want to know.

Thanksgiving dinner?
Thanksgiving dinner?

Later yesterday…

Help! I’m stuck in my chair because Basil is sleeping on his back with his legs in the air and his tail over his face. Could someone bring me a bowl of soup or something?

Really, I looked down and couldn’t make any sense out of how he was arranged.

What other photos have I shared on or around this date?

Thankful
Thankful from The Creative Cat
Thankful

Mimi is thankful for the warm sun pouring into the window, and the home that is hers forever.

I am thankful for Mimi in my life, and all she has brought to me.

And more blessings than I can enumerate here.

All around us are blessings, even if they may sometimes be hard to recognize. Bask in their shower on this day to be thankful.

Happy Thanksgiving to our American friends, and wishing the blessings of thanks on everyone today!

Who’ll Stop the Rain? 2011
Cookie's out in the early morning rain.
Cookie’s out in the early morning rain.

On a rainy November afternoon in 2011, Cookie was so unhappy with the cold wet rain that she decided to make fun of my habit of quoting lyrics and titles from pop songs. I’m not sure which of us was acting more absurd: her for wandering around in the rain, mud and wet leaves, or me for following her through it to take photographs and notes on our conversation.

. . . . . . .

This walking in the rain stuff isn’t all it’s cracked up to be. The ground is all wet, the leaves are slippery, and there isn’t a spot of sun to sit in. But have you ever seen the rain comin’ down on a sunny day?

I stepped up on my log and onto the picnic table bench and all the way up on the table, and it’s just wet everywhere. Really, I just can’t stand the rain. Raindrops keep fallin’ on my head, and it’s so dark, it’s just like a rainy night in Georgia. If the rain was purple, or if there was some fire to go with the rain, that might be kind of cool.

Walking in the rain is no fun.
Walking in the rain is no fun.

But this has to clear up, nothing lasts forever, even cold November rain.

All I want is to sit on my picnic table and look at the yard, and I wonder, still I wonder, who’ll stop the rain? Not my mom. And I honestly think she’s putting words in my head because she’s singing in the rain and I just wish she’d stop! Now I’ll have these songs in my head all day!

She always tried to blame these things on me!

Stop it with the songs AND the rain!
Stop it with the songs AND the rain!

Still loving those senior kitties during Senior Pet Month.
