Daily Photo: My Gallery Director

Mimi prefers artsy selfies.

Mimi prefers atsy selfies, and is fond of reflections.

Actually, she insisted upon assisting me as I photographed the mat and frame on several pieces of artwork hanging on the walls. The photo above was one result, the one below was another. She has perfect timing—knowing exactly when I finally had the camera focused with no reflections on the glass so that she could insinuate her presence in the photo to the greatest effect.

Mimi is as much a talented photo-bomber for taking self-portraits as her daughter Mewsette is a talented cardboard interpretation artist.

And this is what she gets.

What Nice Children I Have

Mimi watches her sons in a new movie.

“I’m so proud of my boys, starring in this new movie,” Mimi says.

I played the “BrotherlyWrestleBath” video for a friend who came to visit. Mimi was curled on my lap, and while she usually pays no attention to anything that appears on my screen she watched these two with rapt attention, from beginning to end!

Nothing I nor my friend did would distract her. It makes me wonder if she recognizes them.

And here is what Mimi thought of today’s snow.

The Laundry Has Eyes
five black cats on pile of laundry
The laundry has eyes.

No, I haven’t indulged in any funny stuff to cause interesting hallucinations. I came home on this dark rainy day and there was not one cat to greet me at the door. Strange indeed it is to be ungreeted, I sensed all was right so was not worried someone had broken in while I was away and made off with the Five. I had a feeling I knew where they were.

I immediately picked up my camera and went upstairs, turned on the light and with that rudely awakened them, where before it had been a pile of clothing it had now sprouted ten yellow and green eyes. In order, it’s Giuseppe, Mr. Sunshine, Mewsette, Mimi and Jelly Bean, who had to have a quick bath.

The ever-evolving pile of laundry and donatables lately has been in the basket at the food of my bed which heretofore had held decorative pillows. However, all the merchandise I’ve been making has to go into the closet to stay clean and nice so “the pile” is now out in the open, much to the joy of five black cats.

I thought they might be glad I was home, but when I left the room to get back to work on things, they all went back to sleep.
