Daily Photo: Mimi’s Coat of Many Colors
“Cookie said there’d be days like this.”
After the big sleep-in on my bed this afternoon, Mimi joined me to settle on my lap. But a kitty settling on my lap while I’m working in pastel means…well, they’re not exactly a paint rag, but I do pet the lap kitty when I take little breaks, and of course they end up wearing a little pastel. It was hard to tell with Cookie and Kelly because they were speckled already, but in Mimi’s lustrous black fur today’s greens and blues and warm wood tones stand out clearly.
I don’t think Mimi minds. I dusted her off before she left my lap. But it reminds me of a cartoon inspired by Peaches that I’ve never done…
The pastels are non-toxic, so there is no worry of what they might do to Mimi, or to me. Read more about researching the ingredients and manufacture of art materials.

I love this! Black cats can’t hide anything they get into, can they? Except maybe soot.
Rachel, they’d never be that subtle!
Mimi looks like a 1970s glam rocker.
She’s my little tie-dyed hippie cat.
We see where we have been.
That’s adorable! There’s a picture of a Medieval scribe’s work that has cat prints in the ink floating around on Facebook. I think cats have always been great muses.
I’ve seen that one! My cats have always gotten into my stuff. I think Mimi was proud!
