Daily Photo: Giuseppe Comes in Handy

Sunshine drapes himself across his brother, under the covers, while Mimi tucks herself in between.

Mr. Sunshine finds Giuseppe to be a more than adequate bolster to drape himself across. Where is Giuseppe? He’s that lump under the comforter. His Mama Mimi is tucked up between Mr. Sunshine, on top of the covers, and Giuseppe, underneath. On a cold and snowy day like today I can’t help but believe Mimi is happy her children didn’t have to grow up outdoors but can instead enjoy the comfort of a (relatively) warm house and a (decidedly) soft bed.

Likely Giuseppe was dreaming of his princess Mlle. Daisy Emerald who is keeping warm and happy in Kingston, possibly also cuddling under her own comforter dreaming of Giuseppe, but ignoring little M. Chat Noir neĂ© Pumpkin who does not encroach on Mlle.’s space but is excessively happy to be in a warm home with lots of really good food.

In the meantime, Mewsette and Jelly Bean are having a heart-shaped nap. All these happy, safe and warm rescued black cats are wonderful to think about.

Edna, they truly are, even that smart one, Mr. Sunshine!

My beloved, my dearest Giuseppe far away in Carnegie. My Mama just woke me and told me that I was mentioned today in your Mama Bernadette’s Creative Cat. Did you really dream of me as you slept under the warm and soft comforter (and your brother Mr. Sunshine) in your Mama Bernadette’s bed? I saw the photo and I saw the wonderful lump that was you. I too love to sleep, and dream of my love, beneath the soft feather duvet on my Mama’s bed.

You are so lucky to know your Mama Mimi/I know only my Mama Denise. I love her with all my heart, but sometimes, early in the morning or very late at night when I feel restless and sit on the windowsill looking out at the night sky over the great river I wonder about my cat mother. But I know she is happy knowing that I have such a wonderful home with my Mama Denise. Do you know that my Mama is the third Mama I had in my first year of life? Yes Giuseppe,
twice before that glorious day when Mama and I met at the shelter, I had been taken to the same shelter, unwanted and unloved! Dear Clio, my tortie sister who I never met, gave me our Mama to love me. I often think of Clio on the windowsill at night as well as my cat mother.

What do think of late at night when you sit on your windowsill my love?

So, tonight we are all warm and cozy in our new loft in the old limestone near the river. Mama is hanging a lace curtain and Papa is making their dinner. Wee Monsieur Chat Noir — that Pumpkin has taken to calling himself Monsieur Chat Noir…. he has learned a little French and I do think it has gone to his head….. and I both had grilled turkey for dinner and now, I think, I will have a nap and dream of you far away in the town of Carnegie.

Good night my love, my dearest, my precious Giuseppe Basil Verdi.

Your Mlle Daisy Emerald Marguerite, purrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr, nuzzle and snuggle. xo

All your black babies look warm, happy and content. Such lucky kitties. We will also lie on top of others who have snuck under the covers. Bernadette, Mom left you a reply to your comment about the fling-ama-string. She says to check Google. Purrs and hugs, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Josette

Janet, I love to know they are all happy warm and safe, and go and look at them like children in bed.

I’m not sure about the fling-ama-string, though, perhaps someone else asked about it?
